Go Babes Weekender: Utah Salt Flats — Trip Recap & 2026 Dates

GO Babes Travel Flying Dress Group Shot on Salt Flats

What’s a Go Babes Weekender?

A Go Babes Weekender is our shortest hosted trip—Friday through Monday—designed to maximize connection, confidence, and gorgeous photos without using a full week of PTO. It’s solo-traveler friendly (most women come knowing no one) and deeply community-centered—solo travel, never alone.

Why the Utah Salt Flats?

Confession: the Bonneville Salt Flats have been on my bucket list for years. This landscape is otherworldly—endless horizons, soft light, and a backdrop that makes every woman look cinematic.

Depending on recent weather, the flats shape-shift:

  • After rain, a thin layer of water turns them mirror-like, creating surreal reflections at sunrise and sunset.

  • When they’re dry, the surface becomes a bright white salt crust, clean and graphic—perfect for bold color (hello, flying dresses) and movement.

Either way, the flats are a dream for connection and photography: minimal distractions, gorgeous light, and space to breathe, play, and feel confident, radiant, and at ease.

The Magic (Day by Day)

Friday — Arrival & Mountain Dusk Minis
We met up, settled in, and headed for a gentle mountain photo session at dusk near the flats. Low pressure, soft light, instant laughs—an easy icebreaker that set the tone.

Saturday — Sunrise on the Salt + Girl Time + Sunset Finale
We started before dawn for a shimmering sunrise session on the flats, then headed back for a hotel breakfast. After a relaxed lunch nearby, we soaked up girl time to prep for the evening—hair, makeup, and a little hype-squad energy—before our flying dress finale at sunset. We closed with a compliment circle and a champagne toast (true magic), then celebrated at a local pizza joint that also had karaoke.

Sunday — Antelope Island + Boutique SLC Pampering (Massages!)
We checked out and road-tripped to Antelope Island for windswept views by the Great Salt Lake. Then we checked into a boutique hotel in Salt Lake City—instant pampered vibes. The rest of the day was easy: downtime, massages, and a relaxed dinner together.

Monday — SLC Slow Morning + Departures
We checked out in the morning and explored Salt Lake City—think coffee, a little wandering, some got tattoos (!), lunch, and last laughs—before heading to the airport. Most of us arrived solo; all of us left with friends.
